This blog is your roadmap to mastering the core features of Oracle Connections, designed to help you engage more effectively with your colleagues and optimize your workflow within Oracle Fusion Human Capital Management (HCM).
From advanced search capabilities to personalized profiles, Oracle Connections offers a variety of tools that make it easier to find, collaborate with, and learn from your peers. Our

Utilizing connections enables us to:
- Search and Exploration: Efficiently find colleagues using Oracle's powerful search functionalities, simplifying the process of browsing and refining search outcomes.
- Personalized Profiles: Access comprehensive profiles containing essential details such as work location, time zone, and other pertinent information to facilitate scheduling and enhance collaboration efforts.
- Profile Customization: Enhance your profile by including details about your professional background, interests, and skills, allowing others to better understand your expertise and interests.
- Favourites: Use Favourites to mark people that we can interact with often, or to build a network of people to help achieve your career objectives.
- Common Interests and Expertise: Uncover similarities with colleagues to foster valuable professional connections.
- Organizational Insight: Enhance your comprehension of co-workers’ positions within the organizational framework by utilizing visible organization char.
- Feedback Collaboration: Participate in constructive feedback exchanges with colleagues to establish a basis for growth and progress.
1. Features
1.1 Search for People in Connections
- Access the Connections application through Me > Connections or quick action in the Me tab.
- On the Connections page, utilize either a person's name or email for searching and we can search using various person-related fields, but Connections uses people’s names for a primary search and other fields are secondary.
- We can also click the Advanced Search icon on the page to view filters across categories. We can select multiple values to refine your search.
- When We click a filter, a list of values available for that filter along with the number of people that match that filter are displayed in a list.
- The available filters include Country, City, Tags, Title, Location, Job, Department, and Position.
- Once we've entered a person's name and hit Enter, matching results corresponding to our search criteria will be displayed.
- To view additional results, simply click on "Show All Employees" to see all matches aligned with our search criteria.
1.2 Connections Profiles
Connections profile includes information about yourself in different sections. Some information is initially available, and we can add more details about ourselves. Here is what our profile includes and the details we can add to it.

Header:
In the header, we will find details such as our name, contact information, job title, workplace address, work phone number, as well as our Slack and Zoom credentials. We have the option to include a profile picture and incorporate links to your social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. Additionally, for convenience, we can utilize the icon adjacent to phone numbers and email addresses to effortlessly copy and paste them elsewhere.
Organization:
The organization showcases our reporting structure, any reports we may have, the count of reports, along with details such as job, department, business unit, and representatives responsible for Areas of Responsibility.
About Me:
We have the opportunity to outline ourselves and our professional endeavours. This includes detailing our areas of interest, expertise, and professional background. Additionally, we can incorporate tags to highlight our work, interests, expertise, and any other aspects that reflect our identity. These tags enable our colleagues to easily find us through Connections.
Favourites:
Mark co-workers with whom we are frequently engaged or aspire to connect, aligning with our career goals and objectives.
Skills and Development:
our competencies and areas for growth become apparent when Dynamic Skills are put into action.

Visit Skills Centre:
To better understand and grow our organization’s talent with an always-current, well-defined, and tailored skills data set, use Oracle Dynamic Skills. It makes use of our organizational data to automatically identify, infer, and recommend skills for people, jobs, and other skills related resources. We have a continuously updated view into the ever-evolving skills to effectively connect people to opportunities.
Career Ambassador:
As a career ambassador, we can actively encourage colleagues to seek guidance on enhancing their skills by leveraging our expertise.
Experience and Favorite Links:
Crafted to reflect our tenure and service history, along with personal links and interests.
Feedback:
Provides insight into received feedback, enabling expression of gratitude to peers and offering feedback, all while adhering to privacy and visibility preferences.
